There are lots of different things that are involved with the weather. There is wind, water, snow, temperature, sun, hail, and ice. The study of weather is called meteorology, and people who study weather are called meteorologists. The weather in Oklahoma, in my opinion, is very strange. It can be below freezing in the morning, and by late afternoon, it can be in the upper sixties and low seventies.

Here are some tools needed to learn more about weather....

  • Barometer: An instrument used to measure air pressure. As the air pressure pushes, the mercury goes into the barometer and is shown by the color. This tool is measured in inches. http://wikipedia.com

  • Hygrometer: Used to measure relative humidity. It consists of two thermometers, one wet and the other dry. It is usually calculated by the wet thermometer, and is measured in percent. http://hubpages.com/hub/How-a-Hygrometer-works

  • Anemometer: Used to measure wind speed. Measured in miles per hour. The anemometer is spun by the wind, and the wind speed is determined by how fast the machine is spinning.
